At Camping La Grisse, your stay at Le Givre is not limited to the beaches of the Vendée. Our privileged location opens the door to unforgettable excursions to three pearls of the Atlantic: Île d'Yeu, Noirmoutier Island and Île de Ré. Get ready for days of escapism at the mercy of the tides!

L'Île d'Yeu: The real thing offshore
Set sail for a day out of time on the Île d'Yeu, a truly unspoilt jewel. Accessible by boat from Fromentine or Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie (allow around 1 hour's drive from the campsite to reach the pier), this wild island will win you over with its varied landscapes. Discover its secret coves, steep cliffs, windswept moors and fine sandy beaches.
Explore Port Joinville with its colourful houses, visit the medieval Vieux Château, or hire a bike to explore the charming paths. Île d'Yeu is an invitation to unwind and discover unspoilt nature.
The island of Noirmoutier: The island of mimosas
Easily accessible via the famous Passage du Gois (a unique submersible road only passable at low tide) or the bridge, the Île de Noirmoutier is a must-see stopover. Around 1 hour 45 minutes’ drive from Camping La Grisse, this charming island will enchant you with its villages of white houses and blue shutters, maritime pine forests, sparkling salt marshes and beautiful family beaches. Taste the famous Noirmoutier potatoes, stroll through the narrow streets of Le Bourg, visit the Château de Noirmoutier-en-l'Île, or go treasure hunting on Plage des Dames and its emblematic pier. The Ile de Noirmoutier promises a day between land and sea, punctuated by the gentle pace of life.

Île de Ré: Chic and wild
A little further afield, but just as accessible for a day's exploration, the Île de Ré awaits you around 1? hours' drive from the campsite, via the toll bridge at La Rochelle. Known for its elegant atmosphere, endless cycle paths and charming villages, the Île de Ré is a real delight. Climb to the top of the Phare des Baleines for a breathtaking view, sample fresh oysters in the port of Ars-en-Ré, visit the UNESCO-listed citadel of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, or enjoy the vast sandy beaches. Hiring a bike is the best way to soak up the unique atmosphere of this popular island, with its salt marshes, vineyards and hollyhocks.
